ABOUT ME

Catherine was the first singer to be awarded a Junior Exhibitioner’s scholarship in the history of the Royal Academy Music at the age of ten. After gaining a BA Hons in Music and English from Southampton University she returned to the RAM on the post-graduate opera course and was awarded the Diploma of Advanced Studies and LRAM with Distinction. During her time at the Royal Academy she was chosen as the soloist for an official recording for HRH Prince William.

She was also chosen as the soloist for the regional premier of “The Great War Symphony” by Patrick Hawes to mark the end of the First World War centenary commemorations and a specially commissioned work to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Mayflower.

Catherine is a versatile performer whose international career has encompassed opera, oratorio, recitals and musical theatre. She made her West End debut in the acclaimed production of Masterclass and toured Germany as Christine in “Das Phantom der Oper”. Her many operatic roles have taken her throughout Europe and closer to home for Devon Opera and Opera Holland Park’s summer season.

As an accomplished recitalist Catherine has performed at numerous venues including Leighton House Kensington, The Overseas League and Chichester Festival Theatre. She recently gave a recital of Joaquin Rodrigo’s songs for the ambassador at the Spanish Institute in London.    

Catherine is in great demand as an oratorio soloist. She has sung extensively for choirs and choral societies in major venues across the UK and Europe.

Highlights have  included  Britten’s War Requiem in Exeter Cathedral; Handel’s Messiah in Chichester Cathedral; Brahms’ Requiem at Shaldon Festival with Sir David Willcocks; Bachianas Brasileiras no 5 by Villa Lobos at Dartington Great Hall  and Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate at the Festival Saint- Eloi in France.
